1.Mission
Music is a universal language. The Children and Youth Arts Association (hereinafter “the Association”) aspires to break geographical barriers and bring Asian music lovers together in this competition. Through competing in a video-recording format, the Association encourages participants to strive for excellence and self-improvement in the process.

5. Format
Participants shall video-record their performance and upload the video to designated platforms. The video will then be reviewed and adjudicated by the Association and professional adjudicators.
6. Important Dates
Application deadline: 5 March, 2021
Video submission deadline: 5 March, 2021
Date of results announcement: 17 April, 2021
Date of prize allocation: on or before 31 May, 2021
7. Prizes
1. In every division of each category:
a. A champion, a 1st runner-up, and a 2nd runner-up will be selected; awardees will `
receive a certificate and a trophy. Should there be more than one participant with the
same score, the title will be shared.
b. Other participants will be given Gold, Silver, or Bronze award according to their scores,
and receive a trophy and/or a certificate, depending on their performance.
Medal and Certificate classifications:
Gold Award (90 marks or above): a a trophy and a Gold Award Certificate
Silver Award (80 – 89 marks): a trophy and a Silver Award Certificate
Bronze Award (70 – 79 marks): a trophy and a Bronze Award Certificate
Merit: (60-69 marks): a Certificate of Merit
Participants who do not fall into the above classes will be awarded a Certificate of Participation.
2. Asian Outstanding Pianist Award
Applicable to participants who enter all three categories, i.e. Piano Solo (Own-choice Piece),
Piano Solo (Grade Examination Piece), and Piano Duo. A certificate will be awarded to the
three individuals who obtain the highest total score from these three categories.
3. Asian Outstanding Tutor Award
a. A certificate will be awarded to any tutor who nominates at least 5 participants (the teacher him/herself cannot be one), with all of them being awarded champion,
1st runner-up, 2nd runner-up, Gold, Silver, or Bronze Award;
b. The tutor’s Chinese and English full name, email address, and contact number should be
stated on the participant’s application form;
c. The tutor him/herself also has to submit the
Asian Outstanding Tutor Award Application Form.
4. Asian Outstanding Institute Award
a. A trophy and a certificate will be awarded to any institute which nominates
at least 10 participants;
b. The institute has to submit the Asian Outstanding Institute Award Application Form;
c. The institute’s Chinese and English name, email address, and contact number
should be stated on their participant’s application form.
Remarks on Asian Outstanding Tutor Award and Asian Outstanding Institute Award:
Each participant can only choose to nominate either a tutor or an institute;
Each tutor or institute is eligible for no more than one award, which will be allocated together with their participant’s awards.
Information printed in the certificate will be in accordance with those provided by participants. Should there be any incomplete or false information, the Association reserves the right to forfeit the award. No information or document provided subsequently will be accepted.
No amendment is allowed once the application form is submitted.
8. Judging Criteria
Adjudication will be based on the following criteria:
Style, musicality, rhythm, technique, tone, and comprehensiveness
9. Application Method
Fulfill payment (via PayMe/Alipay/FPS/bank transfer) for local contestants only. PayPal for Oversea contestants only.
Complete the application form and upload it with the payment receipt on or before 5 March, 2021;
Video-record the performance and upload the recording to YouTube or Google Drive;
Complete the Video Submission Form on or before 5 March, 2021.
10. Application Details
Payment(For Local contestants)
The participant’s English full name and contact number should be written on the receipt;
For other payment methods, such as PayMe, Alipay, etc., enter the participant’s English full name and contact number in the message section, and screen-capture the successful payment page;
Include a picture the bank transfer receipt or successful payment screen-capture in the application form;
Participants are advised to retain the receipt or screen-capture until the competition concludes.

2. Complete the Online Application Form(Local)/ Online Application Form(Oversea)/ Online Application Form for Group(Local)/ Online Application Form for Group(Oversea).
3. Complete the Video Submission Form / Video Submission Form for Group with a hyperlink to the video attached thereto.
Remarks to hyperlink sharing:
YouTube sharing
Videos uploaded to YouTube should have an “Unlisted” privacy setting. If a video is by any means released or made public, the Association reserves the right to disqualify any related individual.
2. Google Drive sharing:
Upload the recording to Google Drive and obtain its sharing link;
Make sure the option “Anyone with the Link” is selected under “Share with People Setting”;
Copy the hyperlink and paste it onto the application form.
11. Video Shooting and Submission Guidelines
Participants are obliged to the following guidelines. Failure to adhering thereto may affect marks/grades or even result in disqualification:
1. Name the video using the following format:
[Division No.]_[Participant’s full name]_[Name of the piece]
e.g. A104_Chan Tai Man_Turkish March
2. The video should be filmed in one take and unedited;
3. The recording device should be kept as steady as possible;
4. The participant’s face, hands, and torso should be shown clearly in the video;
5. Filming at home is acceptable, as long as the participant is properly dressed and
wearing shoes;
6. Participants are allowed to compete in more than one division, yet each score and
piece can only be used once;
7. Participants are expected to submit a video once per division. Should a participant
wish to re-submit a video, a HK$100 administration fee will be charged;
8. The hyperlink provided should be valid. The Association is not responsible for any
failure to adjudicate due to an invalid hyperlink.
12. Notes
All submitted videos are possessions of the Association. The Association reserves the right to use such videos on their own accord, including but not limited to exhibitive and promotional purposes. Should a participant refuse the Association’s usage of his/her video, please notify the Association upon application;
The decision of the adjudicators on all artistic matters shall be final.
The Association will provide participants with latest news and notices in due course;
The Association reserves the right to amend any item herein and interpret any rule of the competition without further notice;
Any payment made is non-refundable;
The results will be announced via email and posted on the Association’s website. All awardees may choose to have personalized engraving on their trophy/medal or create an additional trophy/medal at the following costs:
Personalized engraving on trophy/medal: HK$80;
Upgrade a medal to a trophy: HK$150;
Additions for recipients of Merit Award and Certificate of Participation:
medal – HK$100; trophy – HK$200;
7. Should a participant wish to appeal against the final results, please file a written
appeal with your reason to the Board of Appeal. A HK$1,000 administration fee applies.
The Association reserves the right of final decision;
8. In case of any dispute, the Association reserves the right of final decision.
